Anyone searching for a local business wants to know one thing before they call: is this real? Today we're making that easier to answer with the Verified badge, a seal next to the business name on its listing, in search results and on listing cards.

What the badge means

A Verified business has shown our team a document that proves it is a real, registered business run by the person managing the listing. We check the document by hand before the badge appears. The badge is about identity, not quality: reviews are still the best guide to how good a business is.

How to get verified

• Open your business dashboard and go to Verification.
• Upload one business document, such as a GST certificate, a shop and establishment licence, or a trade licence.
• Our team reviews it, usually within a couple of working days, and emails you when it's done.

Your document is stored privately and is only used for the check. It's never shown on your listing.

Why it's worth doing

Customers are more comfortable calling, messaging or visiting a business they know is genuine, especially for services where they're letting someone into their home or paying in advance. Verified businesses also stand out in search results, where the seal sits right next to their name.
